In 1963, the Barbie doll swept onto the fashion scene in an elegant ensemble worthy of a royal ball and designed to draw "ahs" of admiration from everyone on the guest list. Her rose-colored velvet coat featured a dramatic stand-up collar, and its pink silken lining exactly matched her full-skirted gown. Accessories for Sophisticated Lady included a tiara, faux pearl necklace, white gloves, and pink open-toe pumps.
This beautiful 2002 "Collector's Series" Hallmark Keepsake Ornament is the 9th in a series of designs celebrating Barbie through the years, sometimes referred to as the "retro" Barbie series. Wonderful details sculpted by Hallmark artist, Patricia Andrews, this MIB (Mint in Box) ornament and box is from a non-smoking household.
