Barbie is just too cute in her crisp white tennis romper with back zipper and her orange/red trimmed white cotton sweater! Also included, all in excellent condition, is a tennis racquet, two tennis balls, a pair of white tennis shoes (marked "Japan"), and blue google-type sunglasses. Doll is NOT included.
This outfit is in very good, near mint, condition with only a small stain, less than 3mm, on the left shoulder of the jacket. There are a couple of teenie tiny stains, also in this area on the seamline, which show up in our photo but are near impossible to see with the "naked" eye.
Also, the photo shows a tennis dress, not a romper. We acquired this set as part of a larger lot which included a doll, case, and other clothing, all from the early 60s, so I'm just assuming this romper goes with this outfit. I researched and could find no other outfit with this little romper. (Any Barbie experts wanna help us out with more information?) Has original white Barbie tags as shown.
Per Sarah Sink Eames' price guide in Barbie Fashion, Vol. I, 1959-1967, market value for #941 is "$150 if NRFB (never removed from box) condition. For mint and complete outfits, out of box, subtract 45-50%."
Unless otherwise noted, we do not wash or otherwise alter vintage items. We are a non-smoking household, however we do not know about previous owners. I am sensitive to odors and will disclose detected unpleasant odors in our descriptions.
Each "Barbie Boutique" item includes a handling fee to reflect the special packaging, care, and insurance required to ship. Handling charge for this listing is $3.00 for our U.S. customers.
