Oh my gosh oh golly...what a FIND this piece was! Now, before y'all start thinkin' we're weird er sumthin' (uh more so than ya already do), we REALLY don't believe what I'm about to tell you....however, I find myself "returning" to this piece to just stare at it...again and again and again. And last night when my dear hubby was shooting photos, he commented on how unusual it is and then added, "It's almost haunting." So there you have it. I guess you could say we're under her spell!
Ummm...I'd tell you that she even selected the lampwork beads to use (yes, I'm serious), but you might call the dudes in white coats to pay me a little visit if I told ya that part.
So anyhoo we think this must-see-in-person cat face is pewter...too heavy for sterling. VERY high quality with "copyright D Greene 1985" stamped on the back. I wasn't able to find any information about her at all...but isn't she just spectacular? She measures about 1-3/4"x1-1/4" and is "hollow" on the back.
To showcase this beauty, I used hematite, vintage glass beads, lampwork glass (I'm sorry but I don't remember the artist), genuine turquoise, and silver-plated acrylic. Yep...you read that last one correctly. Those highly-detailed ornate beads you see that you was maybe thinkin' were Bali sterling? Nope. Silver-plated acrylic. Trust me...if it's cool...I'll find it!
The ornate toggle/bar set is Bali sterling and this necklace, strung on Beadalon, measures 22". The matching bracelet, also on Beadalon with a silver-plate toggle clasp, measures about 8". The earrings, on sterling silver leverback ear wires, dangle about 1-1/4". Primary colors are turquoise, rust brown, pewter silver, and ivory/bone. Absolutely OOAK (one of a kind)!
