Y'all know how much we love finding vintage lucite beads and buttons! So check these puppies...er camels...out! This cute camel is "3D" (detailed all sides) and measures approximately 25mm or about an inch tall and is about 6.5mm thick. As you can see from the pin in our photo, the bead hole runs north to south, from the first hump (ouch!) through the belly (ouch again!). Glossy jet black color; acrylic plastic lucite. These are just toooooooooooo cute! Ya love critters...ya gotta have 'em! ONE (1) black camel bead per package.
Oh....a little camel info...if you're interested....
These two-hump camels are known as "Bactrian" and are much less common than dromedary (one-hump) camel. They're native to the Gobi Desert in Mongolia and aside from the obvious difference of the number of humps, Bactrian Camels differ in a few other key ways. For example, the Bactrian camel grows a thick coat of hair each winter which falls off every spring. This heavy coat and shedding process helps them deal with the extreme variation of temperature in the Gobi desert where summer highs often top 100 degrees Fahrenheit, and winter months can see significant amounts of snow. Also Bactrian camels are generally much more mild-mannered than their hot-tempered dromedary kin. Estimates for the number of Bactrian camels in North America range from about 400-800 head.
